Data center revenue just doubled — AMD's finally showing up in the AI compute race

$AMD Q2 2026: $11.5B revenue, +50% YoY. Data Center segment revenue was $6.7B, up 107% YoY, and — this is the real tell — Data Center operating income flipped from a $155M loss a year ago to $2.1B this quarter. MI350 Instinct sales more than doubled YoY with adoption broadening across hyperscalers, AI labs, and sovereign AI deals, alongside EPYC Turin ramping. This isn't 'AMD as the cheaper alternative' anymore — a $2.1B operating profit quarter in Data Center means the margin story is finally catching up to the revenue story.

Operating income swinging from -$155M to +$2.1B YoY in one segment is the actual signal here, not the revenue growth %
