About CasePit

What this is

CasePit is a community for people who talk about stocks and are willing to show their hand. Every post is written by a member, tagged to a ticker or a topic community, and sorted by the community's votes — like any forum. The difference is the verified position: a member can prove they actually hold the stock they are writing about, and the post carries a ✓ badge that says so. Proof beats opinion.

Alongside the discussion, every stock page pulls together the public record on that company: price history, financial statements filed with the SEC, a rule-based read on financial health, the stock trades disclosed by members of the U.S. Congress, and the Form 4 filings of the company's own officers and directors. The Congress and Insiders directories let you start from the person instead of the ticker.

How verification works

A member verifies a position by uploading a screenshot of the holding from their brokerage app. The screenshot is checked on the device for the ticker, the share count and a price that falls inside that day's actual trading range; if it passes, the post is stamped with the symbol, the share count and the date of the check. The screenshot itself is not stored and is never shown to anyone. A stamp is a point-in-time statement: it says the member held the position when they posted, not that they still do.

Where the data comes from

• Financial statements and fundamentals — the XBRL financial data companies file with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (EDGAR), which is public and free to reuse.
• Insider trades— SEC Form 4 filings, grouped by the person who filed them so a director's activity across several boards shows up in one place.
• Congressional trades — the periodic transaction reports members of Congress must file under the STOCK Act.
• Prices — delayed market data from public quote providers. Prices shown on the site are not real-time.

The financial-health grades and the “investor lens” cards are produced by fixed, published rules applied to those filings — they are starting points for your own reading, not ratings or advice.

What this is not

CasePit is a discussion platform. Nothing on it — not a member's post, a verified badge, a health grade or an AI summary — is financial advice, an offer, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Read the Risk Notice before you act on anything you find here.

Community rules

Posts and comments are held to the Terms: no harassment, no hate speech, no pump-and-dump coordination, no undisclosed promotion. Every piece of content can be reported, reports are reviewed, and members receive a statement of reasons for any action taken on their content. Feature requests and complaints about the site itself go to s/wishlist, where they are argued over in public.
